Spoken Word is bullshit

I hate the term spoken word. How the hell is that poetry? What, the word isn’t read? Oh wow, that is so meaningful (sarcasm alert). There are only a few ways to get words from one person to another and spoken is a primary! Fuck, this is exactly why poetry is a dead art form. It also doesn’t help that most poets can’t do much these days besides copy rappers or act all emo. I’ve been to a poetry reading, it was 3 hours of the same thing. I’m rapping about some chick I love. I’m rapping about some chick that dumped me. I’m rapping about sex in general. Seriously, it was a poetry reading guys, the fuck? And by the way, you were terrible rappers. I guess poet just means I can’t rap.
